The Saddle Club is originally a book series written by Bonnie Bryant and published by Bantam Books between 1988 and 2001. They follow the adventures of three girls, Carole Hanson, Stevie Lake, who are twelve and Lisa Atwood,thirteen, who are passionate about horses and ride at Pine Hollow, the equestrian club of their town, Willow Creek. They created their own club called The Saddle Club. There are 144 books. Like many children's series book, some of The Saddle Club books were written by ghostwriters, not Bonnie herself. Some of them are Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, Sallie Bissell, Helen Geraghty, Tina deVaron, Sheila Prescott-Vessey Cat Johnston, Caitlin Macy, Minna Jung, and Catherine Hapka.

List Of The Saddle Club Books

The books have four different spin-offs. The Saddle Club Super Edition are longer than the regular Saddle Club books and written in a different style for some of them.

The Inside Story books are written as journals and diaries by one of the main characters. The Inside Story books are even longer than the Super Edition.

The Pine Hollow books are about Stevie, Carole and Lisa four years later. They aimed as a more mature public than the regular Saddle Club. Many old characters are present and new ones appear. The girls are now in High School. 

The Pony Tails are not related to Lisa, Carole or Stevie but to Pine Hollow. Here, we follow three young girls, Corey Takamura, Jasmine James and May Grover. But they ride ponies and have their own club called The Pony Tails.

The Author: Bonnie Bryant

Bonnie Bryant was born in New York in 1946.Her parents were Emmons and Metzer Bryant. She has two sisters, Penelope "Penny" Bryant Carey,and Molly Bryant, who died. Bonnie moves Wisconsin to go to Lawrence University. There, she met Neil W. Hiller who was her husband. She worked on the campus newspaper, where he was the editor.

After college, Bonnie worked for a publishing company, then left in 1986 to write The Saddle Club. She and her husband had two sons, Emmons and Andrew "Andy". Neil Hiller died in 1989. She dedicated many of her books to him. She dated Irving Gottesman from 2000 to 2007, until he dies on September 2007. Bonnie lives in Greenwich Village in New York.
